About Ballet
Class Description:
Ballet is a type of performance dance that originated during the Italian Renaissance in the fifteenth century and later developed into a concert dance form in France and Russia. This is a basic class that introduces the student to the elementary positions of classical ballet. Classes are slow and thorough to ensure proper alignment and understanding.

Kimberly had a 12-year career with the San Francisco Ballet (2009-2021) before transitioning to her
current role as a freelancing performing artist, talent, dance instructor. She’s passionate about injury prevention and cross training after surviving hip, back, and foot injuries throughout her pre- and professional career.
Originally from New York, New York she was a long-time student at Ballet Hispánico (1994-2006) where she trained in multiple dance forms including Flamenco, Horton, and Salsa. Kimberly experienced her first tour at the young age of 11 performing with the company at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. Kimberly’s ballet training continued at Studio Maestro (2004-2006) before attending San Francisco Ballet School in 2007 becoming a Trainee in 2008-2009. Kimberly credits much of her ballet development to her coach Charla Genn (2006-2021). Kimberly is a signed model and actress.
