Michelle Liu is a San Francisco native, who began dancing ballet at the age of 7. She received rigorous classical ballet training under San Francisco Ballet, as well as contemporary ballet training under Alonzo King LINES Ballet. While in school, she joined Lowell Dance Company, where she expanded her dance training in styles such as modern, jazz, and hip-hop. As a member, she helped choreograph performances, teach dance classes, and produce student showcases. In 2011, Michelle moved to Los Angeles and performed as a lead dancer for UCLA’s Icarus Contemporary Dance Company. During her free time, she would train at competitive studios such as EDGE, Westside Ballet of Santa Monica, and Playground LA. Four years later, she moved back to San Francisco and became a ballet teacher for children at local dance studios. Now represented by RAE Agency, Michelle continues to pursue her passion for the performing arts as a versatile dancer and teacher in the Bay Area. She believes it is never too late to learn dance and strives to create a learning environment that is safe, positive, and fun, while still working to improve each individual’s skill level. She is excited to share her knowledge and expertise on her first love — ballet — at RAE Studios, and make ballet accessible to everyone.
