Matt Barry (They/Them) is a queer multidisciplinary freelance dance artist and educator based in the Bay Area. Interested in embodiment and authenticity, they play with movement, sound, and drag, to craft inherently queer and thematically enriched worlds that speak to the larger human experience. They are a graduate from the Alonzo King LINES Ballet Training Program and had the opportunity to collaborate with choreographers such as Chuck Wilt, Kayla Farrish, Chafin Seymour, Natasha Adorlee, Alex Ketley, Maurya Kerr, David Harvey, Greg Dawson, Babatunji Johnson, and Moscelyne ParkeHarrison. Currently Matt is an artist and collaborator with UNA productions and Detour Productions.

Prior to moving to the Bay Area, Matt spent years teaching at various institutions around their hometown of Orlando, FL. With foundations in hip hop, ballet, and contemporary dance, their artistic practice and teaching style is based in groove, sensation, and self exploration. As a teacher, Matt focuses on creating an environment for students to come as they are, grow, and express themselves authentically. The overall goal is to cultivate a safe space for everyone and leave them with tools to grow as artists and individuals.
