She began her dance education at three years old at the Academy of Movement and Music in Oak Park, Illinois, where she studied ballet, Graham, Humphrey, and contemporary dance. Post graduation, she studied for a year at the Ailey/Fordham BFA program, attending through a full-ride merit scholarship, and ultimately graduated in IPE & History. She continued her dance studies at the Graham School, and the Alonzo King LINES Ballet Training Program. She is currently renewing her 10+ years of experience with the Graham technique through Modern Intensive University (MIU).
She works for dawsondancesf, a contemporary dance company, performs live improvisation in cross-disciplinary art settings, and choreographs on adult dancers and students. As an educator she has the great joy of teaching Graham to studio dancers at SFB, contemporary for adults at Rae Studios, general dance for children in public schools through SFB’s DISC Program as well as Nagata Dance, and more.

Pedagogy: “My aim is to teach dance from the inside out; from receptive listening & intuition, to somatic sensation, then finally into energetic outburst into form and flow.”
