About the Spotlight:
Bharatanatyam is one of the oldest classical dance forms of India, originating in South India as a form of devotional storytelling through movement, expression, and rhythm. This class dives into the foundational elements of Bharatanatyam, including adavus (basic steps), mudras (hand gestures), and abhinaya (expressive storytelling). Participants will explore the rhythmic precision and grace that define this art form while also learning a short choreographed piece that showcases its timeless elegance.
