As we move into the new season, we hope to continue strengthening our community and the love for dance! Here's to an amazing first half of 2025, and no onto our summer season.
Training season is here!
Introducing our Summer 2025 schedule starting July 1st. The new quarter will feature 70+ classes and 35+ instructors across 4 locations in San Francisco with classes daily! We're thrilled to bring our students an updated schedule featuring dynamic instructors throughout the Bay Area, as well as expanding our Neighborhood Programs to two additional location. We now offer FREE classes at UN Plaza, Union Square ,Mission Rock, and Fisherman's Wharf giving everyone more opportunities to dance and train. Check out our amazing instructors and support a local small business as we move into our summer season!
Thank you to our past instructors who will no longer be teaching with us. We at Rae Studios always value our instructors and honor their growth as they continue to transition in life. To our returning veterans and new teachers starting July 1st 2025, we are excited to start another season celebrating and highlighting your craft and dedication.
Let's continue to support our local teachers this year by showing up ready to create new and memorable experiences. Just a reminder, every little action goes a long way. Emmanuel Hernandez
Contemporary [Intermediate]

Emmanuel Hernandez is a choreographer, dancer, and creative artist from Los Angeles, CA. currently residing in San Francisco. He started dancing at the age of 11 when he joined his middle schoolās dance team and found his passion for choreography just one year later at the age of 12. Emmanuel has trained in various styles such as ballet, contemporary, modern, jazz, jazz funk, and hip hop. He grew up choreographing throughout high school and college at recitals, showcases, festivals, and dance productions emphasizing on ballet, contemporary, and modern choreography. Emmanuel most recently danced with the Kenneth Walker Dance Project in Los Angeles and holds an associateās degree in dance from Long Beach City College. Emmanuel enjoys blending movements that are free in nature along with technical ability to nurture both the body/mind connection and performance expression. Emmanuel believes that dance is what you make it and should be preserved in a way that reflects modern day society.Ā

Namaad Jackson
Hip Hop [Int/Adv]

Namaad Jackson is a performer, choreographer, educator, and mentor whose background, training, and passion extends over 15 years. In 2008, Jackson found KauCon Dance Kru (KDK) and served as its Chief ExecuCve Director. KDK was a professional dance company that provided guidance, educaCon, and training to inspire other energeCc dancers. Jackson started a youth division of the company in 2012 called KhaoCc Dane Kru, serving dancers ages 12-18. In 2014, he opened a KDK in Las Vegas. During the second year of the pandemic, he closed the company and moved to San Jose.
Namaad has directed many dance companies and troupes including Dcypher Dance, TeamWeGonMakeIt, Culture Shock DC (CSDC), and Culture Shock Las Vegas (CSLV) where he was able to travel, perform, and teach throughout the US, and in Canada, Paris, and Germany. He was ArCsCc Managing Director for Dixie Arts Conservatory where he managed and oversaw all studio operaCons, classes, and programs. Since moving to the Bay Area Namaad signed as a talent with RAE Talent and Model Agency and is teaching at several studios across the bay area including RAE Studio, Purdance, FulloutStudios, Dance ConnecCon of Palo Alto, and Dance Mission Theater. Namaad dances and performs with Str8Jackets Dance Crew which has been featured on NBCās World of Dance the TV show and is also a former pro NBA Dancer for the Golden State Warriors.
Namaad sees dance as a positive force and a medium to tell stories, discuss issues and inspire others. He is proud of his accomplishments and is very passionate about his career as a professional dancer, choreographer, and educator. He encourages others to recognize their passion and always follow their hearts and dreams.

Vivian Unkart
Hip Hop [Int/Adv]

Vivian Unkart is a passionate and versatile dance educator who holds dual degrees in Dance and Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from Chapman University. As a teacher, Vivian is known for creating a supportive and high-energy classroom environment grounded in musicality, precision, and clear direction. Her teaching style reflects a deep understanding of both foundational technique and current industry styles, blending commercial sensibilities with strong technical training.Vivianās teaching experience spans collegiate and pre-professional levels, where she has led classes and rehearsals in hip hop, heels, and jazz-fusion. At Chapman, she choreographed and taught for Shaka Hip Hop Team, Stilettos Heels Club, and Chapman Dance Alliance, where she also served as Lead Choreographer. Her choreography has been featured in student films, team auditions, and campus-wide performances. Outside of academia, Vivian was a Skeleton Crew dancer for the internationally recognized girl group KATSEYE, contributing to pre-tour and promotional content. She also trained and competed with Groove by GRV, working under top industry choreographers to further refine her performance and team-based skills. Vivian brings professionalism, adaptability, and a strong work ethic to every class, with the goal of helping dancers grow not only in skill but in confidence and artistry.

Elizabeth Viera (she/her)
Jazz Funk (Beginner)
Mondays | 6:00pm (at UN Plaza)
Elizabeth is a lifelong dancer with over 25 years of experience. She began her training in competitive jazz, tap, and ballet, building a strong technical foundation that continues to shape her performative style. While sheās explored many genres over the years, she found her true love in jazz-funk, K-pop, and musical theater ā styles that let her fully embrace character, storytelling, and expression.
Now based in San Francisco, Elizabeth brings a bright, energetic presence to everything she does. She is the creative director of the Baybaes, a casual K-pop cover group, and an avid weightlifter. She blends artistry and athleticism in her approach to dance, with a focus on helping people feel strong, confident, and at home in their bodies ā wherever they are in their movement journey.
Her classes emphasize performance and are infused with influences from many styles and cultures. Sheās trained in four languages across Detroit, New York, Toronto, Tokyo, and San Francisco. After three years as a dancer in the RAE community and participating in four performance workshops, Elizabeth is thrilled to join the RAE teaching team.

Linden Cady (she/her)
BollyX (All Levels)

Linden Cady, MPH (she/her), is a dance and movement educator, ACE-certified group fitness instructor and personal trainer living in San Francisco. She has taught dance and dance fitness classes for the past 13 years, specializing in BollyX- The Bollywood Workout, cardio dance, and pop choreography. She is the San Francisco Community Mentor and brand ambassador for BollyX, training and mentoring new instructors. As her drag alter-ego Linty, she has performed at nightlife venues throughout San Francisco and founded Access Happy Hour, an inclusive drag show supporting young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Linden has taught at Dance Mission, ODC, LEVYstudio, YMCA SF, Motion Arts Center (San Mateo), Harvey Milk Center for the Arts, and SFUSDās Access program, among others. Her mission is to help others express themselves, to make fitness fun and rewarding, and to create inclusive, accessible spaces within the community. She aims to help people of all abilities and fitness levels express themselves and reach their goals through meaningful dance and fitness experiences.

Ki To (He/Him) Jazz Funk [Int/Adv] Wednesdays, 6:30pm (In-Studio) @kithetiger
Ki To is a stylistic and chic dancer with credits that speak for itself. His most recent large corporation booking was for Microsoft. It doesnāt stop there though! Some of the brands heās worked with include dancing for GAP, WAYMO, Genentech.Ā
Ki To has appeared in several music videos, backup danced for Son Tung MTP, and made cameos in major campaigns such as K-Swiss x McLaren, BENEFIT cosmetics, Em Cosmetics, and many more.
When Ki To is not jet setting to another booking, he finds a lot of passion within teaching in the community. With a nurturing teaching style and a push with hard (and at times) syncopated choreo, you are sure to level up in his classes.
Since he trained mostly in LA, Ki Toās base is Jazz Funk, whilst combining Waacking and Afro from his training in Korea. Ki To is also currently training and featuring in two crews. In2thesage and Str8jacket.

Chaya Wurman (she/her)
Contemporary [Int/Adv]

Chaya Wurman (she/her) is a dancer from Boulder, CO with over 15 years of experience across a multitude of styles. She began her dance journey at Boulder Ballet School, focusing on classical ballet. At Carnegie Mellon University, she expanded into contemporary and improvisation, eventually serving as the Artistic Director of Infra Dance Company, a student-led contemporary dance group. She continued her training in New York City, training hip hop, jazz funk, and street jazz at acclaimed NYC studios while performing as a company member with Danceworks NYC. Now based in San Francisco, she is a member ofĀ the Oakland-based team INQ Dance. Her contemporary class explores dynamic textures, movement pathways, and embodied emotion ā inviting dancers to connect technical precision with authentic expression.

Julia Luo (she/her)
Contemporary [Int/Adv]

Julia Luo is a dancer based in the Bay Area with over 20 years of dance experience in various styles. She first trained ballet pre-professionally under Patrick and Greg Notaro at the Dancing Arts Center in Holliston, MA for 10 years. Additionally she trained Horton, Limón, and Graham modern dance technique under various local modern dance companies in the Boston area. At Carnegie Mellon University, she taught open classes both in contemporary and open style for Dancersā Symposium where she also choreographed pieces for 7 major end of semester shows. While dancing and choreographing for Dancersā Symposium, she also led open style dance team, ASA Dance (now Helix Dance Crew) as their Artistic Director. After graduation, Julia taught children and teen ballet at Harmony Dance Studio in Sunnyvale, CA. Currently Julia dances on two competitive Oakland based dance teams, INQ Dance and A Tribe Called Groove.

Phoebe Wan (she/her)
K-Pop [All Levels]
Fridays, 5:30pm (In-Studio)
Phoebe (she/her) is a San Francisco native that started her passion for dance when she first took ballet classes at the age of seven. Along with ballet, she continued her training with jazz and hip hop at various dance studios such as Geary Dance Center and Shan Yee Poon. While attending high school, she was a member of the GWHS Dance Company where she choreographed for their annual dance concert and helped lead practices. She also began listening to Kpop and found it as inspiration for her to learn the dances and make dance covers. In addition, she joined SF Funkanometryās youth team Funksters and danced with the Strong Pulse Dance Crew at City College of San Francisco as well. In 2017, Phoebe began teaching at Studio 505 for three years and taught K-Pop choreography to all ages and even hip-hop to kids. She hopes to gain more skills and experiences and eventually open her own dance studio in the future. When Phoebe isnāt dancing, you can find her baking at home for her friends and family or at her full-time job as an Office and Experience Coordinator in downtown San Francisco. Lydia Chon (she/her)
Hip Hop Fusion [Int/Adv]
Sundays, 12:30pm (in-studio)
Lydia is a New Orleans native who has lived in the Bay Area for over two years. She has danced for over 11 years and is trained in jazz, ballet, contemporary, and hip hop where she danced competitively on a dance team. She was also part of the All-Star Dance Team where she performed in international countries. Currently, she is represented by Rae Dance Agency.

William Chang (he/him)
Hip Hop Fusion [Int/Adv]
Every other Sunday, 12:30pm (in-studio)
William (he/him) began his dance journey after moving to San Francisco from Philadelphia. With no prior experience, he took his first ever studio class 2.5 years ago at City Dance Studios and now dances all around the Bay Area, further developing his passion for dance and artistic expression by training with teams such as Str8Jacket and Tribe Called Groove. Inspired by famous dancers such as Brian Puspos and Anthony Lee, his style centers around translating lyrics into movement, pulling from foundations such as Hip-Hop and House with an emphasis on concepts like isolations, threading, waving, and tracing.
William integrates these different influences in his choreography to strive for movement that allows one to be both creative and expressive while still having fun.
