About the Spotlight: This spotlight will explore different genres that make up hip-hop dance, show how hip-hop styles can be fused with other dance genres within choreography, and encourage students to find their unique approach to the style. We will begin class with a brief warm-up and stretch and then transition into some fundamental exercises to build skills in isolations, grooves, and basic steps. We will then dive into a combination that will combine these elements and allow students to explore freestyle and performance. The goal of this class is for students to have a greater foundational knowledge of hip-hop dance and to build their confidence as dancers.
