Meet the Instructor:
Soumya started her professional dance career during her teenage years at a famous dance company in Mumbai, India called The Danceworx. Soumya is trained in Jazz ,Hip Hop Choreography and house and have performed in multiple shows with the company in India. In 2018, Soumya moved to the US to pursue her passion for dance and fell in love with Chicago Footwork style and its community. In 2019, Soumya became a member of Creation global, an International Footwork crew with over 70 members worldwide led by Chicago Footwork pioneer King Charles. Her main teachers are King Charles , Ant & Tal, Pause Eddie, King Kemo . In the last two years Soumya has actively been working on building a Chicago Footwork community in the Bay Area and all over the world (via zoom). Soumya currently teaches two Chicago Footwork Foundation classes in the Bay Area and also hosts open Footwork sessions in Oakland and online.
