Clubhouse x Rae Studios "Dance is Power" Schedule

Want to connect for our next CH Event? Fill out this Google Form!

We are launching our new Clubhouse group "Dance Is Power", (NOW OFFICIAL!) dedicated to our community of dance enthusiasts, students, leaders, instructors, choreographers, creatives, studio owners, and entrepreneurs looking to share stories, provide insight, education, support, and empowerment. This is a lifestyle community, a space for all levels and voices looking to share good vibes, resourceful information, and make positive connections. Since we cannot allocate additional budgets towards online marketing, we hope to continue deepening our relationships with our existing community along with meeting new dance members along the way. Most of all, we are so excited to give voice, light, and insight to learning more about our instructors and community through this app.

What is Clubhouse?

This new platform lets people chat in real time, share stories, collaborate, and bounce ideas off of each other using their voice without the need for a lot of other equipment.

How do I get onto Clubhouse?

Clubhouse is still in a private beta phase and available only to iPhone users, which is what fuels its exclusive nature. As of now, there are only two ways you can get onto the platform and they both require close relationships with people already on the app:

  • By personal invitation: When someone joins Clubhouse, they’re automatically granted one invitation they can send to someone using their phone number. This means members are going to send invitations to people they have a close connection to, like a good friend, rather than merely an acquaintance. Once someone is on Clubhouse for a while and spends time moderating rooms and speaking, both of which I cover later in this article, they can earn more invites to send.

  • Exclusive side-door: When you try to visit Clubhouse’s website, they give you an option to download the app from the App Store so you can reserve your username. Depending on how many of your friends are already using Clubhouse, they may receive a notification letting them know that you’ve reserved your username and downloaded the app. When this happens, they get the option to wave you through even if they don’t have an official invitation to send (and it doesn’t use one of their invitations if they haven’t already used it yet).

I just registered on MindBody/Classpass/Eventbrite. What should I do?

If you are on Clubhouse, search for our room "Universal Language of Dance" hosted by Jessica Rae. Save the date and add it to your calendar. If you are not on Clubhouse, check to see if you have a friend to get you into the app. Still need a way in? Message @jraesf on Instagram for help!

As you may know, last night (Sunday, February 7) the Rae Studios team hosted our first Clubhouse room talking about all things dance! Missed the event and want to get in on the fun? Check out our recap of the talk below and catch us on Clubhouse again this Thursday, Feb 11th at 8pm PT and Sunday, Feb 14th at 5pm PT for some socializing, networking, and collaboration talk with dancers of all levels!

We had a goal of reaching 50 people and we reached that! People from all backgrounds and levels all around the world shared their experiences of being a student, teacher, dance entrepreneur, artist, professional dancer, and more! It was inspiring to hear stories of how dance has influenced and transformed so many different journeys into a lifestyle. Many people in the room also changed their profile photos to dance action shots and had the opportunity to share what that special dance memory meant to them. One of the biggest takeaways from last night:

“Dance doesn't have only one look, form, shape, style, discovery, involvement...Dance is unique for all and can still relate to many individuals.”

We would love to have you in our next room! Don’t forget to mark your calendars for Thursday, Feb 11th 8pm PT and Sunday, Feb 14th 5pm PT. We will be talking about "All Things DANCE: Socialize, Network, Collab" on Clubhouse as we await our application for our Club "DANCE IS POWER"!
