¡VIVA! Latinx Heritage Month | SF Public Library x Rae Studios

In honor of Latinx Heritage Month, Rae Studios has partnered with San Francisco Public Library to bring to you a FREE Reggaeton Choreography class. Reggaeton focuses on strong and sensual hip movements (commonly known as dancing 'perreo') and often incorporates hip hop grooves and Latin dance technique. Get moving in this beginning/intermediate level class taught by Sandro Alvarez from Rae Studios, San Francisco. For ages 12 and older. Celebrate and honor the diverse histories and cultures of Latinx communities.

San Francisco has a rich Latinx heritage that is highlighted in a diverse array of exciting programs for all ages, from Spanish/bilingual storytimes to cooking classes, author talks to art and cultural presentations. About Rae Studios

Founded in 2012, Rae Studios is a dance & fitness center, overlooking San Francisco's Union Square. The studio is located on the 7th floor of the Native Sons of Golden West building, a historic preservation and organization founded in 1875. With wall-to-wall mirrors, high ceilings, stretch bars, state-of-the-art sound system and our electrifying in house dance & fitness instructors, Rae Studios is the perfect solution for group and one-on-one training exercise.

Meet the instructor:


Sandro Alvarez

Sandro Alvarez is a professional dancer and choreographer with more than 14 years of international experience. He holds a degree in Pedagogy with a specialization in Physical Education and Health. He is the founder, director and choreographer of the Chilean crew BlackBeast, with which he participated for four consecutive years in the final of Hip Hop International in the USA. Sandro is a member of the adult category of the group Killtroz (formerly Clandestinos), which was ranked number 24 worldwide in 2014. In 2019 he auditioned with hundreds of Chilean dancers and was selected among the top 10 participants for season III of the RED television reality show and obtaining 5th place. Likewise, he participated as a staff of dancers at the Viña del Mar International Song Festival in 2020.
