Power Parent Panel w/ Community Liaison Trisha

Updated: May 18, 2021

Panel Recap:

Our Power Parent Panelists Claire, Sheena, Jenny, Raquel, and Sandro gave powerful pro tips all parents and parents to be should know!

Claire is not only expecting her firstborn in July, but just became a certified pre-natal and post-natal trainer and even practiced some breathing techniques, modified movements, and ways to improve posture and core with us at the end of the panel. Rae Studios Reggaeton instructor Sandro and his wife Raquel are also excited to welcome their firstborn very soon. They are reading all the books, already have their doula, a color coordinated calendar, and Sandro is so excited to be a first time dad he wants the bassinet on his side of the bed and is ready to dance with baby while wearing the Bjorn! Sandro and Raquel dialed in all the way from Santiago, Chile, and discussed preparing for baby’s arrival while on lockdown, not conforming to gender norms, and the joys of every belly movement so far! Sheena just had her firstborn a few months ago and was still teaching her pilates classes at 34 weeks pregnant! Sheena shared with us her favorite cookies and teas that support lactation, awesome classes she took through Natural Resources here in SF, and more. Jenny talked about life with a 6-year-old in quarantine and how fast time flies! As a transformative facialist, Jenny offered incredible advice and even demonstrated at the end of our panel, some of her signature face yoga moves to help release tension in the neck and shoulders, and of course...help us feel relaxed and radiant. Watch the full video below to take in all their power parent pro tips!

From learning to flow and surrender and embrace being horizontal more, favorite treats to help you and baby keep strong (and that taste good!), adjustments to teaching/training, belly butter, upper body static holds, pelvic tilts, relaxing your nervous system, these parents are pros and also proudly still learning every step of the way! Listen in on our conversation while you meal prep or catch on house chores because this batch is the perfect company to ground you, encourage you, and reassure you that you too are a power parent.

Meet the Team of Amazing Panelists:

Claire Yanta-O'Mahoney

Claire is originally a Midwest Gal from St. Louis and currently calls Denver home but has since lived in every corner of the country (New Orleans for 6 years and San Francisco for 2 years were favorites!), thanks to school, work, and her husband's military career. She found dance at 3 years of age, competed, performed in the London New Year's Day Parade, Disney World Thanksgiving Day Parade, was selected to perform through Showstoppers in Hawaii, and was a member of the San Diego Enforcer Girls Dance Team.

In high school, Claire found the gym and fell in love with both fitness and wellness. She holds an American Council on Exercise Personal Training and Group Fitness certification, and is a Nutritious Life Certified Nutritionist. Claire holds a MS in Psychology from Tulane University in New Orleans and loves combining her favorite elements of various exercise disciplines into effective, empowering, and uplifting experiences.

Through fitness and nutrition coaching worldwide online through her Fleur de Lis Fitness business, Claire provides wellness solutions that help even the busiest professionals. She enjoys the intimacy of one-on-one coaching and also loves teaching group fitness here at Rae Studios, Athleta/Gap Headquarters, Equinox, Exubrancy Corporate Wellness, and NFC Amenities.

When she's not teaching, Claire can be found exercising, cooking (aka health-ifying recipes), reading, traveling near and far, and spending time with loved ones. Or oftentimes you'll catch her dancing. ;)

Life is movement. And an expression of existence is movement. When something doesn’t move anymore that is the expression of death. In other words, something stagnating. Inside our bodies is the same situation; the more it moves, the more expression of life. The less it moves the more expression is towards death. What I perceive is the missing link in everything is that nobody is at home in their bodies.” - Juliu Horvath, Creator of GYROTONIC® EXPANSION SYSTEM
