About the Spotlight:

2 Hour Salsa Intensive with Ava & Rodolfo
Newcomers welcome - but be ready to move at a fast pace as we go through the core partnering elements of level 1 Salsa. Have you been taking classes for a while but having trouble putting it all together? Do you need a solid review of beginner elements so that you can progress to an intermediate level? Are you brand new, but you pick things up fast and are ready to dance? Join our two hour intensive and be able to advance your skills and technique as well meet more of the community. Bring your water bottle, a snack for energy, and your smile - and let's get to it!

Meet the Instructors:

Rodolfo Guzman native of Mexico City, Mexico – grew up listening to the classic Mambo music that his father loved dancing & listening to. Rodolfo joined The Latin Symbolics in 2004, and together with his dance partner Ava Apple, The Latin Symbolics performs routines from genres such as Salsa, West Coast Swing, and Hustle.

Ava Apple, a San Francisco native, has been dancing professionally since her teens. She has performed & taught throughout the USA, Hong Kong, Italy, and The Netherlands and has received awards for her contribution to the world of Salsa & Latin Dance at the 2002 West Coast Salsa Congress, the 2003 SF Salsa Congress, and the 2003 Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts 25th Anniversary celebration.
Ava founded The Latin Symbolics in 2000, one of the longest running dance teams in the Bay Area. The team is known for their playful and creative choreography, as well as their use of difficult lifts and tricks. Together with her dance partner Rodolfo Guzman, The Latin Symbolics performs routines from genres such as Salsa, West Coast Swing, and Hustle.
