Rae Studios Stands Against AAPI Hate

Updated: May 15, 2023

Dear Rae Community,

We understand the attacks against the AAPI community have been difficult to process. The Rae Studios community mourns and shares the heaviness in our hearts with our Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander community. The devastating acts of racial and gender based violence that occurred in Atlanta, as well as the violent anti-AAPI hate crimes that are occurring in the Bay Area and across the U.S. cannot be ignored. To quote stopaapihate.org, “Asian American communities need more than solidarity. We need solutions.”

We call upon ourselves, instructors, staff, students, and supporters alike to educate ourselves and one another about what has been happening to the AAPI community—and to take action. The Rae Studios team has created a #StopAAPIHate resource page compiled with donation pages, organization websites, educational articles, a list of local AAPI businesses, mental health support and more. We will continue to add to this page as we remain active and engaged in the fight against racism, gender-based violence, and xenophobia.

Rae Studios reaffirms our commitment to a space and a community against any form of hate, racism, nativism, gender-based violence, and xenophobia. May waves of healing embrace the families and friends of all the victims through this unimaginable time. To our AAPI instructors, staff, students, and neighbors in San Francisco, we are holding you closer and extending our unwavering support. If you have any questions, comments, or additional information on how to support the AAPI community, please reach out.

We are here for you.

We also want to take the time to reiterate to our community that Black lives STILL matter and

will ALWAYS matter. It is important to make sure we continue to working together. DO NOT use hashtag such as asianlivesmatter, as it takes away from the Black Lives Matter Movement. #raecrewstrongertogether

Our Mission:

We strive to continually lead with our values and beliefs that enable our leaders and community to feel safe, both in the virtual and in-studio space. It is our mission to bridge communities together by listening while providing the tools that allow people to express emotions they might be having during this time, through movement and educational resources. At Rae Studios, we recognize the importance of actively giving back to the community and empowering the voiceless.

If you would like to share your own thoughts, feelings, feedback or additional resources, please email our Community Liaison, Trisha Fuerte (trisha@raeagency.com)
