Rae Studios is honored to be the 2025 programming partner of Mission Rock SF to provide continue FREE CLASSES to the Mission Rock neighborhood located at China Basin Park. Outdoor classes will feature rotating dance classes at 5pm every Thursday, and morning Barre classes every Friday at 10am. Join us this summer with an updated scheduling featuring class styles like Bollywoof Fusion, K-Pop, Hip Hop and Pop Jam. All classes offered will be FREE and easy to follow. We encourage all participants to sign up in advance as spots are limited. We are overjoyed to be a part of this amazing addition to San Francisco’s newest neighborhood. Malvika Raj
Bollywood Fusion (Beginner)
Every 1st & 5th Thursday of the Month
Meet Malvika, a proud Austin native and a dancer whose passion for the art is unending. Her journey into dance began with Bharatanatyam at just four years old, sparking a lifelong love for exploring diverse dance cultures. A highlight of her dance career was competing with her college team, Cornell Bhangra, on the Quarterfinals of America's Got Talent in 2014. Now based in San Francisco, Malvika has fallen in love with a variety of dance forms, including Jazz Funk, Hip Hop, and K-pop, integrating these with her roots in Bollywood, Bhangra, and Classical dance. Her Bollywood Fusion classes aim to make South Asian dance accessible and enjoyable for all, blending traditional and modern moves to create a space where everyone can discover the joy and expressiveness of dance.
Bollywood Fusion (Beginner):
Bollywood Fusion is a dance style that merges traditional Bollywood signature moves with modern contemporary dance steps. Bollywood dance originated in India around Bombay (now known as Mumbai) in the 20th century and can be found in today’s signature music video and commercialized dance choreographers. In this class you will learn cultural Indian semi-classical rooted movements, fundations and vocabulary along with inspired styles from Hip Hop, Contemporary movements.

Jackson Tran
K-Pop (All Levels)
Every 2nd Thursday of the month
Jackson has a diverse background in Hip-Hop, Jazz Funk, and K-Pop dancing. He is a founding member of a K-Pop dance crew based in Santa Cruz called StarChrome. Additionally, he served as a director for JK Family, a beginner-friendly choreography dance crew that blends various dance forms with a passion for Japanese, Korean, and American music. Jackson enjoys exploring new styles and merging different techniques to create choreography that transcends any single genre. Currently, he teaches choreography to students of all ages, from children to adults, at Rae Studios and other studios where he is involved. He plans to continue expanding his skills and evolving as a dance instructor who can express dance through a diverse range of styles.
K-Pop (All Levels):
K-pop, short for Korean popular music, is a form of popular music originating in South Korea as part of South Korean culture. It includes styles and genres from around the world, such as pop, hip hop, R&B, experimental, rock, jazz, gospel, reggae, electronic dance, folk, country, disco, and classical on top of its traditional Korean music roots. Originally known as 'Gayo' in Korea, modern K-pop "idol" culture began in the 1990s. Our KPOP instructors will either highlight other KPOP choreographers reteaching combos from various music videos or create their own choreographed influences from various styles of dance. Students should expect to learn fun combos and increase their performance quality.

Dione Dacuycuy
Hip Hop (Beginner)
Every 3rd Thursday of the month
Dione (he/him) began his dance journey at UCLA on collegiate teams, starting with no prior experience. Over the past 11 years, he has cultivated his passion for movement and artistic expression, training with renowned Bay Area teams such as Project M, Groove Against the Machine, and most recently, Str8Jacket. Drawing inspiration from styles like Hip-Hop, K-POP, House, Jazz, & Afro, Dione integrates these influences into his choreography while honoring the rich histories of the dances he learns. Most recently, he was an instructor at City Dance Studios Fall 2024.
Dedicated to growth and sharing his craft, Dione creates dynamic, expressive, and enjoyable classes that emphasize musicality, performance, grooves, and textures. He strives to inspire through movement and foster a love for dance in his students. Check out more of his work on Instagram: @dcuycuy.
Hip Hop (Beginner):
Hip-Hop is an artistic and cultural movement that started in the 1970s in The Bronx of New York City by Black and Latiné youth who expressed joy through Hip-Hop during a time of oppression. Hip-Hop dance consists of Breaking (commercially known as Breakdancing) and Hip-Hop Party Moves (e.g., Bart Simpson, Biz Markie, Roger Rabbit, Running Man). In this class students will focus on a beginner-friendly Hip-Hop dance combo that will help with choreography and movement quality. This course is a prerequisite requirement for many of our beginner/intermediate or intermediate/advanced classes. Prepare to take this class for at least 6-8 weeks before advancing to the next class.

Jessica Rae
Pop Jam(All Levels) | Every 4th Thursday
Barre (All Levels) | Every Friday
Jessica Rae is a Filipino business owner and educator around movement and entrepreneurship. She is the founder and CEO of Rae Model & Talent Agency LLC and Rae Studios, located in downtown San Francisco, California. Jessica graduated from San Francisco State University with a BA in Speech and Communications and a lifetime advocate of dance and the arts.
She is an energetic certified Group Fitness and Dance Instructor with a strong background in Cardio Dance, Kickboxing, MMA, and dance choreography. She promotes healthy minds and bodies through music and movement while building a strong community motivating people to move outside their comfort zone. Her certifications include: GF, AFAA, CPA and First Aid, Pound Pro, Cize Live, Barre Certified and has been seen coaching for Gap HQ, Athleta, Lorna Jane, Fitbit, William-Sonoma, Airbnb, Eventbrite, Salesforce, Facebook, Marriott, San Francisco Middle School, Dare to Bare amongst other established corporations.
Jessica currently teaches weekly classes at Equinox and Rae Studios.
Pop Jam (All Levels):
Pop Jam originates from Dance-Pop, a popular music subgenre that originated in the late 1970s to early 1980s. It is generally uptempo music intended for nightclubs with the intention of being danceable. Pop Jam is influenced by various dance styles including, Jazz Funk, Hip-Hop, and Latin dance.
Barre (All Levels):
Barre was created in 1959 by a ballet dancer named Lotte Berk after injuring her back. Berk combined ballet movements with rehabilitative therapy to form a few methods of exercise. Power barre is positioned on the center floor. Also known as “off the barre”. This class includes high + low impact traditional barre combos using medium and light weights along with other props that change weekly. This class is centered around traditional ballet, dance, yoga and pilates foundations.
