UN Plaza Workout Series | Begins Dec. 1st

Rae Studios is proud to be the programming partner of the San Francisco Recreation & Parks and Civic Center Community Benefit District for the new SF Fitness Court, launching a 13-month workout series at the UN Plaza Fitness Court from December 1st, 2023 to December 2024. The workout series will feature classes provided by Rae Studios. Classes offered will range from cardio dance, dance choreography and fitness classes. Most importantly, all classes offered will be FREE.


We at Rae Studios are proud to provide classes to all students of all economic backgrounds. Classes at the UN Plaza will feature our instructor roster from all levels and various styles of dance and fitness. We encourage all participants to sign up in advance to secure your spot. Please do your part when reserving and attend class or early cancel as needed so that we can account for equipment supplies and overall class preparation. We are thrilled to be apart of this amazing new addition to the city and look forward to movement program!

David So

Strength & Conditioning (All Levels)

Mondays | 7:30am-8:15am


David So is the founder and creator of NAB, Neighbor And Brother, a local SF fitness organization. David's charismatic attitude is contagious! You will find yourself sweating and laughing the entire workout as he pushes you to build and burn while meeting your fitness using foundational and functional movement in HIIT / Bootcamp style classes. Credentials include PTA Global NCCA Accredited Certified Personal Trainer. You can find David teaching for various companies including Rae Studios weekly for Bootcamp, Sweat 30, and HIIT style classes.

In his spare time, catch David a part of Marathon and 50K Participants (Most Recent: NorthFace Endurance Challenge 2019 Marathon, Quarantine 50k Run).

Strength & Conditioning (All Levels):

This class is focused around muscular endurance and toning. It is centered around form and weight lifting techniques that are necessary for building a well-rounded physique. With fun, energetic music, this class will get you in the beast-mode zone, and you'll be sure to get the most out of your workout!

K-Pop (Beginner):

​​​​K-pop, short for Korean popular music, is a form of popular music originating in South Korea as part of South Korean culture. ​​It includes styles and genres from around the world, such as pop, hip hop, R&B, experimental, rock, jazz, gospel, reggae, electronic dance, folk, country, disco, and classical on top of its traditional Korean music roots. Originally known as 'Gayo' in Korea, modern K-pop "idol" culture began in the 1990s. Our KPOP instructors will either highlight other KPOP choreographers reteaching combos from various music videos or create their own choreographed influences from various styles of dance. Students should expect to learn fun combos and increase their performance quality.

Tashi Cowan

Hip Hop (Beginner)

Tuesdays | 5:00pm-6:00pm


Tashi Cowan is a dancer and teacher who has diverse experience in multiple forms of performance arts.


A Marin County native, she received her first formal lesson in hip-hop at ten years old and has been hooked on dance ever since. She continued her dance education while studying for an Associate Degree in Dance Performance at College of Marin and performed in the 2010 dance productions ‘Signatures of Motion’ and ‘Dance Upon a Song’.

Tashi was recognized by the College of Marin Foundation with the Saragay Stetson Dance Scholarship, a competitive award recognizing outstanding talent within the department.


She also has had musical theatre training performing with the Stapleton Theatre Company’s Rendition of “Fame” where she received the Rookie Award.


A graduate of San Francisco State University, she studied abroad in London, England and was a member of the Kingston Cougars Latin Dance Team from 2017-2018, which ranked 2nd and 3rd place for Best Latin Style Dance.


In 2015 she became certified a Zumba instructor and has taught classes at Energy Dance and Fitness in San Rafael, Bay Club, San Francisco and Marin County and Mt. Tam Racquet Club. She continues to train at Mood Studio, Rae Studios, and SF ODC Dance Commons in Heels Technique, Hip Hop and Jazz Funk.


She is constantly learning and growing as a dancer and a person and believes that to dance and being able bodied is a blessing.


Hip Hop (Beginner)

Hip-Hop dance consists of Breaking (commercially known as Breakdancing) and Hip-Hop Party Moves (e.g., Bart Simpson, Biz Markie, Roger Rabbit, Running Man) and Hip-Hop is an artistic and cultural movement that started in the 1970s in The Bronx of New York City by Black and Latiné youth who expressed joy through Hip-Hop during a time of oppression. In this class students will focus on A beginner-friendly Hip-Hop dance combo that will help with choreography and movement quality. This course is a prerequisite requirement for many of our intermediate/advanced classes. Prepare to take this class for at least 6-8 weeks before advancing to the next class.

Darian Gemora

Hip Hop (Beg/Int)

Wednesdays| 5:00pm-6:00pm


Darian is a Bay Area native growing up in the ‘fog’ since he was born. He started his dance career sophomore year of high school being personally recruited into Funk Beyond Control a hip hop team led by Darnell Carroll. He has trained with So You Think You Can Dance award winning choreographers Phoenix and Pharside Jennings while on the youth team of Academy of Villains. Darian is an avid choreographer for social change and has participated in many Mental Health Awareness performances with Str8jacket for the San Mateo County. During his time in high school he was a lead in his school plays as well as Director of Dance for the rally committee. His training started with Hip Hop but he later dabbled in Contemporary, Lyrical, and Jazz Funk. Darian recently finished back up dancing for the TNT Boys World Tour in 2019 while working on his marketing degree at SF State. His goal is to inspire his students to gain more confidence and help them tell their own stories through dance. If you could sum him up in a few words it would be funny, corky, and creative.

Sara Templeton

Jazz Funk (Beg)

Thursdays | 5:00pm-6:00pm


Sara is a choreographer, teacher, and dancer born and raised in San Francisco. She started her professional hip-hop career at sixteen, dancing with Culture Shock S.F. and L.A. and guest performing with independent artists throughout the Bay Area. While earning her dance degree at Loyola Marymount University, Sara expanded her training to include ballet, modern / contemporary, and dunham technique, and also began a focused re-engagement with salsa and other Latin dances connected to her Puerto Rican heritage. It was during this time that Sara truly honed in on her passion for choreography and teaching, and the ways in which the intelligence of different dance techniques could cross pollinate for the benefit of the artist. Sara has performed alongside notable hip-hop artists Allan Frias and Jesse Lee Santos, and has done commercial work with musical groups Blue Boy and Spanish Fly. Locally Sara has performed and presented work at Dance Mission Theater and ODC, and is blest to have trained with exceptional artists across disciplines including Janice Garrett (modern), Robin Dekkers (ballet), Brandi Chun (jazz funk), Pat Cruz (hip-hop) and others. Most recently, Sara choreographed the Center Repertory Company’s sold out Spring 2023 musical production of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s In the Heights and continues to teach a variety of dance forms around the Bay Area.


Sara strongly believes in the joy of dance, and is dedicated to fostering a safe and playful space where students can work on sound dance technique while feeling motivated to grow. When Sara is not in the studio teaching or choreographing, she is experimenting with dance for film, and running her online dance merchandise store ObjectsForArts. Besides dance, Sara is an ardent, 20-year practitioner of Iyengar yoga, and a strong believer in massages and chocolate.


Jazz Funk (Beg):

Jazz Funk dance, a super-set of Jazz and influenced by the Hip Hop dance style. This style of dance is usually fast-paced pointed gestures and quick movements. In this class, you are expected to have basic knowledge of jazz foundations while learning quick pace combos emphasizing on feminism and intricate movements.

Annalisa Brown

Pilates (All Levels)

Fridays | 7:30am-8:15am (12/1-12/15)


Annalisa (She/Her) was born in Castro Valley, CA but holds her roots in Hawaiian, Puerto Rican and Japanese culture. She has been dancing since she was 5 years old with specific passion for latin dance, hip hop and jazz with any sassy attitude in the mix! She became an official choreographer -Zumba®️ Jammer for Zumba in 2013 after starting her career in group fitness in 2012 which expanded to working, traveling and sharing her passion around the world to create an experience through music and movement as a Certified Personal Trainer, corrective exercise and performance. She also holds a degree in Advanced Health and Fitness Science studies!


In 2019, Annalisa moved to SF after modeling in the National 24 Hour Fitness Campaign and being signed with a talent agency. She has since built her business Fitness party 101, started a podcast with international reach and found her specialty in teaching pilates, barre and athletic training.


2021 marked the year she joined Rae as an instructor and has since taught Zumba and fitness formats that bring her passion to help move her mission for everyone to connect to their own inner confidence, mind, body and soul in her classes and training while preventing injuries.

Pilates (All Levels):

Pilates is a type of mind-body exercise developed in the early 20th century by German physical trainer Joseph Pilates, after whom it was named. Pilates is a low-impact exercise that creates optimal strength through muscle balance and fine-tuning neuromuscular patterns. Students should expect to experience t​​​otal body fitness exercises that consist of low-impact flexibility, muscular strength, and endurance movements that emphasize proper postural alignment, core strength and muscle balance.

Jessica Rae

Barre (All Levels)

Fridays | 7:30am-8:15am (12/22-12/29)


Jessica Rae is a Filipino business owner and educator around movement and entrepreneurship. She is the founder and CEO of Rae Model & Talent Agency LLC and Rae Studios, located in downtown San Francisco, California. Jessica graduated from San Francisco State University with a BA in Speech and Communications and a lifetime advocate of dance and the arts.

She is an energetic certified Group Fitness and Dance Instructor with a strong background in Cardio Dance, Kickboxing, MMA, and dance choreography. She promotes healthy minds and bodies through music and movement while building a strong community motivating people to move outside their comfort zone. Her certifications include: GF, AFAA, CPA and First Aid, Pound Pro, Cize Live, Barre Certified and has been seen coaching for Gap HQ, Athleta, Lorna Jane, Fitbit, William-Sonoma, Airbnb, Eventbrite, Salesforce, Facebook, Marriott, San Francisco Middle School, Dare to Bare amongst other established corporations.

Jessica currently teaches weekly classes at Equinox and Rae Studios.

Barre (All Levels):

Barre was created in 1959 by a ballet dancer named Lotte Berk after injuring her back. Berk combined ballet movements with rehabilitative therapy to form a few methods of exercise. Barre-sculpt focuses on low-impact movements oscillates between building up heat using strength exercises and lengthening the muscles using dynamic stretching movements inspired from ballet, dance, yoga and pilates foundations. This is an all-levels class, we encourage students to take this class at least 6-8 weeks to get into the swing of exercise combos. This class is great for students who need low-impact movements. Arrive early to save your seat at the mat.

Shruthi Reddy

BollyX (All Levels)

Saturdays | 10:00am-10:45am


Shruthi Reddy started dancing since the age of 3 and has been an athlete almost all her life. Dance workouts bring both her worlds of dance and fitness together. Shruthi is a Bollywood dancer, wedding choreographer, entertainer, and certified BollyX and cardio fitness instructor. She teaches at corporate facilities, Bayclubs, and hosts team building events. She teaches BollyX, a Bollywood inspired dance workout, at Rae Studios. Dance is a way she let’s her soul speak with the community around her.

A Bollywood cardio dance fitness class inspired and driven by the heart-pumping, energetic rhythms of Bollywood. The class embodies dynamic choreography and easy-to-follow dance aerobics. Learn the origins and vocabulary of traditional Bollywood dance steps in this all-level class.

Nora Aguayo

Zumba (All Levels)

Sundays | 10:00am-10:45am


Nora Aguayo has been teaching for about five years now, specializing in Zumba and Dance Cardio formats. She blends various dance styles with a Latin kick to create a diverse and fun workout. There is no limit to what you can do—Motiving and creating your flow while dancing is her goal.

Zumba (All Levels):

Zumba is a fitness program that involves cardio and Latin-inspired dance founded by Colombian dancer and choreographer Beto Pérez in 2001. Zumba incorporates four basic rhythms including salsa, reggaeton, merengue and cumbia and each basic rhythm has four core steps. In this class you should expect a high energy environment with easy to follow choreography to form the ultimate calorie-burning experience. Music genres may include Latin beats, Reggaeton, Hip Hop, and Pop music.
