Temporary Studio Closure & Updates

Updated: Mar 25, 2020

Dear Rae Studios, Staff, Instructors, and Community,

Jessica here with Rae Studios. First off, I want to take this time to say a huge Thank you to our community and team leaders for continuing to show their positive support, attending classes, online social posts, air fives/ air hugs, and just being amazing teammates during this time. In light of the recent news and the fluidity of the current situation of (COVID-19), it has become clear that drastic measures are vital to slow the progression of the virus and to eliminate exposure for as many people as possible. We at Rae Studios stand behind this mission and prioritize the well-being of our community as our top priority. With that said, it is with great difficulty that I have decided to temporarily close the studio, effective Sunday, March 15th 2020 until further notice from our city and state governments. Rae Studios will discontinue group classes, spotlights, and other "group class" social gatherings effective immediately.

It saddens my heart to know that we will be unable to support our team, as we currently house 28 instructors, 10 hosts, and 5 core managers; all here to help serve a community through dance and fitness. Our instructors are all local community leaders who've dedicated their time, energy, arts, and craft to their instructor positions and their classes. Our hosts and core team are members who've lead behind the scenes in efforts to deliver meaningful customer service and day-to-day operations. It is important to understand that with the changes made to the business, I will become your primary form of contact as we continue to downsize operations, releasing talent, staff, and management from their current positions as we take a stand to co-align with our governments safety recommendations. As a small business owner operating a space in the San Francisco market, it's quite difficult to foreshadow action plans and answers, but please know that I am here to support the best way possible.

In the meantime, I will be laying out other online guidelines and options to continue our practice in the safety of our homes. This will be created and modified so that we can continue to offer our community with classes and continue to employ as many of our teachers as possible during this time. Please continue to follow our news via website and online channels to get the latest updates.

For memberships, class card packages, spotlight reservations, and studio rentals, please note that we will offer extensions, freezing membership, and specific case refunding needs will be announced tomorrow before 5pm. We understand that everyone is in a financial bind and will get through this as soon as we can. Again, further detailed directions will be announced here and listed on our website by EOD tomorrow.

With all this being said, I ask that everyone continues to show kindness, share positive energy, stay safe and most of all, please please keep in touch. Please keep in mind that this is temporary. More details will follow as soon as we get clearance. A huge thank you on behalf of my entire team for everyone’s continued positive energy.

Thank you students, teachers and staff. Be safe and stay connected.

Please email any concerns here: lourdes@raeagency.com (415) 484-3451. We will get back to you as soon as we can.

Much love and respect,

Jessica Rae
