In-Studio Closing Steps (COVID-19) Updates

Written: 11/28/20

Dear Rae Community,

Jessica here, with Rae Studios giving an update on (COVID-19) studio announcements. It has been an emotional rollercoaster, closing the studio, reopening, and now closing again. Yet, we are still here, moving forward to keep our staff, teachers, and community together during these uncertain times. In light of the recent spike of COVID-19 cases, Mayor London Breed and the San Francisco Health officials announced that “Indoor gyms and fitness centers must close indoor operations effective Sunday, November 29th 2020”. Limited one-on-one training may continue indoors, with specific ventilation measures in place. It has become clear that drastic measures are vital to slow the progression of the virus and to eliminate exposure for as many people as possible. We at Rae Studios stand behind this mission to put the well-being of our community as our top priority. We’ve been here before, this time, with more experience under our belt with Virtual operations. With that said, Rae Studios “In-Studio” ticket options are now unavailable until further notice. Rae Studios will discontinue “In-Studio” group classes, spotlights, and other “social gathering” group classes effective immediately. While it saddens our hearts to close our doors again, we understand that this is for everyone’s safety. The team and I are working around the clock connecting with our teachers, updating in-studio ticket reservations, providing customer service, updating our website, and overall operations to meet all your questions and concerns. We ask that you continue to be patient while we make updates to our business platform.

Before we dive into the “next steps”, we’d like to take a moment to highlight a few groups that have been an instrumental part of our continued success:

Thank you Highlight:

  • Our Teachers: Always bringing in the best attitudes, figuring out new teaching methods, continued craft sharing, and partnership with the studio.

  • Our In-Studio Staff & Virtual Volunteers: We wouldn’t be here without the support of our staff. A huge thank you for your continued positive energy, customer service, and hard work towards in-studio and livestream classes.

  • Our community members / students: Without you all, we wouldn’t be here. Thank you for your continued support towards the arts, wellness, and small business community.

As we move our business platform BACK to the Virtual Experience, please continue to show your positive support by attending classes, sharing your online social posts and tagging us, air fives/ air hugs, and just being amazing teammates during this time.

Here are a few house rules for joining our online community:

Be sure to check your spam folder for the Zoom link, if you cannot find the link.

Please do not share your link! The online platform was created not only to unite the community through shelter-in-place, but also to support our instructors.

We will be removing students that arrive in our virtual classes that are not listed on Mindbody. Be sure to message the moderator before class begins if your Zoom account name does not match your name on Mindbody.

Be sure to sign in early! We check in students (just like in the studio) and we want to be sure to mark your attendance prior to class.

Double-check the class you sign up for when registering online. We will not be issuing refunds during the shelter-in-place.

If there are two or more people using one device for a class, be sure to purchase a household ticket. This will allow attendance for you and your household for a single class.

Thank you students, teachers and staff. We can’t Thank you enough for allowing us space to continue sharing our arts, wellness and community. Please continue to communicate any concerns.
