Instructor Auditions | Submit Your Application Today!

Rae Studios is seeking passionate and energetic instructors to conduct weekly group classes across a variety of styles and skill levels. Candidates must possess at least two years of teaching experience, along with a an active social media presence and a strong dance portfolio. Hiring Details:


Hiring is done quarterly in line with our group class structure. Note, the application is an ongoing form and can be filled out at any point. If we are at capacity with the current class schedule and roster, instructors may apply for future hiring and admission to the official sub roster.


Dancers applying to teach must submit the following:

  • Resume that clearly outlines training and teaching background. Applicants prioritized based on their most recent work and job experience.

  • Dance Portfolio - this should include recent examples of your work including class and solo choreography videos in addition to headshots and movement photos.

  • Strong social media presence with various teaching examples. Content should be consistent. Can feature works from other choreographers, but should primarily feature examples of your own work and classes.

  • Must have minimum 2 years dance instructing experience to apply.


Applications submitted that do not show a clear outline of training or teaching experience will be denied.


The process:

  1. Fill out an official application on our website: https://www.raestudios-sf.com/in-studio-instructor-application

    1. Reminder to submit with your full teaching resume and links to your website or instagram. Resumes showcase standard, non dance related work will be denied.

  2. If management would like to move forward we will email to confirm general availability, requested style and level for teaching in addition to scheduling an instructor demo.

  3. Demos are 30 minutes with the management team as your students. In 20 minutes you'll demonstrate a condensed version of your class format. The remaining 10 minutes will be used for Q&A and feedback.

    1. Note: demos are in-person and scheduled Monday-Friday between the hours 9am-4pm.

    2. All confirmed instructor demos will also follow with a Google calendar invite for final confirmation.

  4. After the demo process, the management team will deliberate and send a follow-up email. To those that are accepted, plan to start teaching early as the first day in the next quarter.


All instructor demos are graded and reviewed using the following rubric:


Rae Studios Class scheduling:

  • Q1 | January 1st - March 31st

  • Q2 | April 1st - June 30th

  • Q3 | July 1st - September 30th

  • Q4 | October 1st - December 31st

Rae Studios is a local adult dance studio founded in 2011 located in San Francisco’s downtown Union Square. With over 60+ classes a week, Rae Studios offers a variety of classes great for all levels of dancers including Hip Hop, K-Pop, Jazz Funk, Shuffle, Bollywood, Cardio Dance and more.  Rae Studios is home to dancers of all-levels and experience. We welcome all dancers looking to start or continue their dance journey with us.
