Performance Workshop Series Q2 2022 | March-June 2022

Rae Studios is hosting a showcase and we're inviting you to participate! Join one of our artists in a training series resulting in a culminating showcase in June. Workshops are in Belly Dance + Pop, Contemporary, Locking, and Pop Jam. We are now offering additional workshops in Heels and Hip Hop.*

DATES: Workshops are held between March 26 -June 3. The showcase is Saturday, June 4th, 2022. See individual workshop for details of dates and rehearsal times.

Train with one of your favorite instructors and showcase your journey.


Rae Studios is launching a performance workshop series. Each workshop series instructor is highly trained and knowledgeable in their practice and will guide you through a series of rehearsals to build a deeper relationship in their movement background. At the end of the series, Rae Studios is hosting a Holiday Party featuring all of our performance workshop series instructors and students.


As a participant, you will receive personalized training, feedback, and resources from our instructors. You'll learn, rehearse, and perform a set personally made for your cohort. You'll also have the chance to show your friends and family all the progress you've made in your workshop series.

Guidelines and Policies:

  • Students are expected to attend all the weekly sessions for their registered workshop series. Students must be available for the showcase date.

  • Attendance policy- Any missed session will be forfeited and credits are not transferable. Missing more than one session may result in being removed from the workshop series and/or showcase date.

  • Students are expected to provide their own makeup and outfit for the showcase unless indicated otherwise by the instructor or management team.

  • Students are encouraged to invite friends and family to see the showcase.

  • Students will receive a special discount code to share with friends to receive 30% off on tickets for the show. Discount code will be available when ticketing launches.

Natalie Sklovskaya

Heels [Beg / Int]

Saturdays 1:35pm-3pm PT + Sunday 3:30pm-5pm PT

Natalie was born and raised in San Francisco and began her dance journey at age 4 attending Genesis Ballroom Dance Studio. She continued ballroom dancing until age 12 where she switched to Jazz and Hip Hop dance styles. While attending UC Davis, she was a member of Agape Dance Team, where she choreographed performances, helped lead practices, and taught dance workshops. Upon graduating, Natalie was a member of Str8jacket dance team. She is passionate about creating a welcoming dance environment for all students, regardless of their experience level and focuses on emphasizing technique and performance in her classes.


Heels [Beg / Int]

A choreographed dance class. Unleash your divine femininity through storytelling, confidence building, and empowered dance choreography. Class includes heels technique, across-the-floor combos, tricks, and floor work. Music video vibes, dress to impress! Knee pads recommended. Suggested footwear: Heels with ankle support.

Kevin Wong

Hip Hop [Beginner]

Kevin Wong, from San Francisco, California, is a Dance Major and Education minor graduate from the University of California, Riverside. He has been dancing for eighteen-years in Chinese Folk with the Flying Angels Chinese Dance Company. In high school, he was introduced to modern, ballet, jazz, and hip hop by Wendy Jones, founder of the Lowell Dance Company. During his college years, he directed Collective Faction Hip Hop Dance Team, performed in the Gluck Contemporary Dance Ensemble, and supported many of the UCR Dance productions. In addition to his performing body, Kevin has trained his dancing body in modern, ballet, hip hop, West African, Capoeira Angola, improvisation, and breaking. After graduating college, Kevin participated in SAFEhouse Winter 2019 RAW and year-long AIRSPACE residency programs, revitalized the Shawl-Anderson Dance Center Teen Hip Hop classes, and performed with Project M, an all male hip hop dance team, STEAMROLLER, a contemporary dance group, and with his collaborating partner Mathew Wong. Currently, he is the Artistic Director of Flying Angels Chinese Dance Company, teaches with the HeART with LINES program, and leads weekly adult Choreography and Zumba classes.

Most of his classes focus on building and developing three elements of a dancer: choreographing, performing, and improvising. Kevin hopes to continue his artistic practice of experimenting and researching dance by asking questions, reflecting on different approaches, and offering time and space for others to explore.


Hip Hop [Beginner]

Jessica Rae

Pop Jam [Intermediate]

Saturdays 12:00pm-2pm PT

Jessica Rae is the owner and director of Rae Model & Talent Agency LLC and Rae Studios, a local dance and fitness studio located in San Francisco's Union Square. Jessica's teaching dance background and certifications include Cardio Dance, Cize Live, Pound Pro, Kickboxing, and Barre along with various styles of dance choreography.

Currently, Jessica teaches weekly classes at Rae Studios, Studiomix, Bay Club & GAP HQ along with various brands/clients like Athleta, William Sonoma, Airbnb, Facebook, Lorna Jane, Lucy, Marriott, Crunch Gym & W Hotel. In addition to her teaching background, Jessica's has also been seen dancing for celebrity artists like Lady Gaga, Ludacris, Kid Rock, E-40 and Too Short.

On her spare time, she enjoys training through martial arts and kickboxing!

Catch your favorite Pop Classics from artists like Sam Smith, Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, and Bishop Briggs! Learn intermediate choreography combos, performance execution, and dancing outside your comfort zone. Class includes standing and floor work.

Kevin Saicheur

Locking [Beg/Int]

Mondays 8:35pm-10:00pm PT

Kevin Saicheur started dancing back in 2007 with breakdance in high school with friends and learning from YouTube. However, he decided to take dance more seriously after sneaking into sessions with the UC Davis Breakdance and Popping club in 2008. Since then, Kevin has learned various other styles from popping, hip hop, locking, and house. He also had many opportunities to train and dance alongside many amazing companies and individuals such as Brian “Lil B” Perez, Keeley “Lockn’ Key” Kaukimoce, Brandon “Knowbody” Greathouse, FunktionPoint, and the Bay Area Lockers. Kevin values freestyling, its foundations, the culture, and history behind them; and believe that everyone should learn from it.


Locking [Beginner / Intermediate]

This is a technique, choreography, and freestyle based class teaching the fundamentals and history of Locking. Students will learn the foundation, techniques, and applied concepts of the funk-style street dance known as Locking. Students will also be learning the history of this dance from its origins in Los Angles and its founder and creator, Don Campbell, to understanding the origins of its movements and how it came to be while learning its application in both choreography and freestyle.

Andrea Sendek

Belly Dance + Pop [All Levels]

Sundays 12:50pm-2:15pm PT

With a rich background in the performing arts, Andrea Sendek brings a lifetime of passionate involvement in acting, music, and dance to her role as Teacher, Performer, Choreographer, and Director.


Andrea integrates philosophies into her work learned from training and performing, for over 2 decades, belly dance and other dance genres. Andrea began learning belly dance with Mesmera in Los Angeles from 1996-2004. In 2004 she relocated to the Bay Area and began her studies at The Salimpour School of Dance where for 10 years she trained under and assisted both Jamilla & Suhaila Salimpour. Since 2015 Andrea has been learning Arabic drumming and music with Susu Pampanin and Amina Goodyear. In June of 2021, Andrea began studying extensively with Egyptian master Tommy King. She Has taken countless workshops from Egyptian teachers throughout the years some of which include, Dandesh, Yossry El Hefni, Karim Nagi, Tito, Adia Nour, and Mohammed Shahin. Andrea received certificates for completing Shara Saeeda’s Journey Through Egypt courses 1 & 2, her Suhaila Level 4 Advanced Performer Certificate, and her Jamilla Level 3 Certificate.

As a performer, Andrea has an extensive and rich performance background. Some notable performance venues are The Palace of Fine Arts, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Brava Theatre, and The Shelton Theatre. She has performed and taught across the United States and internationally; some highlights of her itinerary include appearances in Japan, Hong

Bellydance + Pop [All Levels]

Come learn this sensual, fluid, and emotive dance form in a safe and energetic environment. This class is suitable for all skill levels and we will cover basic technique, introduce layering, and learn a Bellydance routine to the new song Elghazala Ray2a. It came out in early February and is a viral hit in Egypt. It's from a popular movie and the song is by Karim Mahmoud Abdelaziz and features child singer Mohamed Osama! All Levels Welcome.

Grace Dong

Contemporary [Intermediate]

Sundays 1:20pm-2:45pm PT

Dates: 3/27, 4/3, 4/10, 4/17, 4/24, 5/1, 5/8, 5/15


Born and raised in the Bay Area and now based in San Francisco, Grace has been training in ballet, contemporary, and jazz since childhood. She has worked with choreographers like Sonya Tayeh, Keri LaGrand, Jon Bond, and Brooke Pierotti.


Grace went on to attend Stanford University, where she served as the Director of Innovative Styles, Stanford's student-run contemporary company, and Jam Pac'd, Stanford's only dance group catered to women, femmes, GNC, NB & queer folks. Grace was also one of five Stanford Dollies in the 2017-2018 season, where she performed with the Stanford Band at the Valero Alamo Bowl, NCAA Women's Volleyball Final Four, and other Stanford Cardinal events.


She currently teaches Beginner and Intermediate Contemporary at Rae Studios, where she emphasizes strong technical foundations as the basis for movement and expression!


Contemporary [Intermediate]

A choreographed dance class. Learn rhythmic movements that combine stretching, technique, floor work, and guided improvisation. The class gives an experimental flow to create a unique foundation for storytelling and human expression through acrobatic athleticism. Suggested footwear: Socks, Barefoot, Foot undies.
